How the Program Works

Evaluations & Coach Draft
Player evaluations create balanced rosters through a volunteer coach draft, so games stay fair and competitive.
Practice & Play
Most teams have 2 events per week (some divisions 3): practices plus a 9-game season, ending with championship weekend and All-Star selections.
Verified Divisions & Eligibility
Boys’ & girls’ divisions
Grade-based divisions starting at Kinder/1st; Kinder/1st may be co-ed depending on registration numbers.
By school grade
Boys’ and girls’ divisions run from Kinder/1st through 9th grade. For current registration, athletes register based on the grade they completed in the most recent school year.
Sized by division
27.5″ for Kinder–1st; 28.5″ for 2nd–6th grade boys and girls plus 7th–8th grade girls; 29.5″ for 7th–8th grade boys.

Ages, divisions, season dates and pricing vary by registration window — registration always shows what’s current.

Is this a beginner-friendly league?
Yes. The rec league is the front door — first-time players are welcomed and developed, and committed athletes are challenged.
What ages can play?
Boys’ and girls’ grade-based divisions starting at Kinder/1st (K/1 may be co-ed by numbers). Divisions vary by registration window.

How many games are there?
Each team plays a 9-game season, with most teams at 2 events per week, closing with championship weekend and All-Star selections.
Does everyone play?
Yes — evaluations and a volunteer coach draft keep rosters balanced, and every registered athlete is placed and plays.
What if my athlete wants more?
Tryout-based Be Someone Elite is the select pathway, and The Foundry offers year-round development.

What size basketball will my athlete use?
27.5″ for Kinder–1st grade; 28.5″ for 2nd–6th grade boys and girls plus 7th–8th grade girls; 29.5″ for 7th–8th grade boys.
What do I enter for “Team” and “Coach” during registration?
If you see Team, enter your player’s name. If you see Coach, enter your parent or guardian information.
What does registration cost, and is a jersey included?
$325 per athlete for the current Winter window. That covers the full season, an official Be Someone jersey, certified referees, scorekeeping and standings, championship weekend and All-Star selections.
